“I can use a song to trigger emotions,” she explains, adding that her Betty playlist featured not only period music such as Moonlight Serenade by the Glenn Miller Orchestra, but also new music with the right attitude, like Did It On ‘Em by Nicki Minaj. “They’re songs that make me feel like her,” says Liebert, who tries to focus on the motivations behind the decisions her characters make.
